It is in this setting that the SBH Monica Beach Resort quietly takes its place, right by the sea, without pretension. Drop the bags, slip on the flip-flops, and leave the agenda behind. The 409 modern rooms, three swimming pools and direct beach access take care of everything else.

Arrival

From the moment you walk in, the Monica Beach sets the tone: bright, open spaces that echo the Canarian light, and an immediate sense that everything has been arranged to make your stay run smoothly. The 24-hour reception, lifts to all floors and luggage storage mean arrivals and departures on your schedule, not the hotel's. The 409 rooms come in three clear configurations. The 27 m² Standard Room sleeps up to three adults or a family with a child, and comes with a terrace or balcony, air conditioning, ceiling fan, satellite TV, mini-fridge and a bathroom with hairdryer. The Superior Sea View Room steps up to 52 m² with a separate bedroom and a living area with sofa bed, offering extra breathing room for longer stays or those who appreciate a bit more space. The Family Room, at 30 m², adds a microwave, dining corner and sofa bed for up to four guests. A safe is available in all room types for an additional charge.

Dining, all included

The main restaurant anchors the dining experience with generous breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets that blend Canarian specialities with international dishes. Show-cooking adds a live dimension to mealtimes, with local recipes front and centre rather than sidelined in favour of crowd-pleasing standards. For those who enjoy Asian cuisine, a dedicated restaurant opens seasonally by reservation, offering oriental salads, over ten varieties of sushi, and meat dishes seasoned with spices, citrus and aromatic herbs. It is worth reserving early if your stay coincides with its opening. Up to five bars, including two poolside, round out the offer throughout the day with cocktails, milkshakes, fruit juices and soft drinks. The Pool Bar also serves light bites and snacks for those who prefer not to leave the water's edge at lunchtime. We recommend checking the precise all-inclusive inclusions, particularly regarding alcoholic beverages, directly with the hotel or Ôvoyages, as these may vary by season and room type.

Days by the water

Three adult swimming pools, all lined with sun loungers and parasols, form the heart of the hotel. Two of them sit directly beside a bar, which in practice means a cold drink is always within easy reach. The Fuerteventura light, clean and golden, turns these spaces into something genuinely photogenic from mid-morning onwards. The real asset, however, is the direct access to a sandy beach, with sun loungers and parasols provided. The beaches of Costa Calma and Esmeralda are less than two kilometres away, and the famous Sotavento beach is around 2.3 km distant. This is exceptional coastline, and the hotel makes full use of its position. For the more active, a multisport court, gym, fitness and yoga classes, tennis, mini-golf, table tennis and volleyball are all on site. Water sports including scuba diving, snorkelling, windsurfing, surfing and fishing are available for an additional charge, as are the tennis court, billiards and access to a golf course.

Evening vibes

As the Atlantic sun drops and paints the sky in shades of amber, the Monica Beach shifts gear without becoming hectic. The international entertainment programme takes over with concerts, shows, sports tournaments, themed evenings, karaoke and live music depending on the season. Sports screenings keep fans up to date, and the bars stay open to accompany the evening. The atmosphere remains family-friendly throughout, lively without being overwhelming.

Who is it for?

The SBH Monica Beach Resort works particularly well for families, thanks to the well-designed Family Room, three pools, direct beach access and a daily entertainment programme that keeps guests of all ages occupied from morning to evening. Couples will appreciate the spacious Superior Sea View Room with its separate living area, along with the range of sports and leisure activities available on site. Fuerteventura itself rewards those who venture beyond the hotel: the Corralejo dunes natural park, the historic town of Betancuria and the ochre volcanic landscapes of the south are all accessible via optional excursions. A full-day trip to Lanzarote is also available, departing from Corralejo by ferry and taking in the Timanfaya National Park and a wine tasting at a local bodega.
