Arrival

The SBH Maxorata Resort sits approximately 63 km from Fuerteventura Airport, a drive that gradually reveals the volcanic ochre landscapes of the island's southern tip. The first impression sets the tone: a 24-hour reception, a multilingual international animation team, and the immediate sense that this place has been designed so guests never have to deal with logistics. Public parking is available on site, MasterCard and Visa are accepted, and upper floors are accessible by lift. The 601 Standard rooms cover 15 square metres, each with a furnished terrace or balcony, central air conditioning, a ceiling fan, a satellite plasma TV and a mini-fridge. Bathrooms offer either a bathtub or shower with a hairdryer included. Wi-Fi and the in-room safe are available but charged separately. Standard rooms accommodate a maximum of two adults. Rooms adapted for guests with reduced mobility are available on request.

Dining, all included

The SBH All Inclusive formula runs from 10:30am to 11:00pm. Anything consumed beyond that window is charged separately, a detail worth noting for late-night guests. The main restaurant is the anchor of the dining offer: breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets featuring show-cooking, hot and cold stations, fish, meat, composed salads, fresh fruit and pastries. The show-cooking element adds a welcome liveliness to what could otherwise feel like a standard buffet. Between swims, the snack bar handles hunger efficiently with hot and cold snacks, combined plates, burgers, sandwiches, pizzas, hot dogs and a range of juices, cocktails and mixed drinks. The pool bar keeps guests hydrated poolside. The lobby bar offers a full card of drinks, cocktails and spirits. From 6:00pm to 1:00am, the lounge bar takes over with shows and entertainment alongside the drinks. Two themed restaurants add variety on a reservation basis: the tapas restaurant, open on Fridays and Saturdays, and the Asian restaurant serving sushi, spiced meats, citrus and aromatic herb-driven dishes. Days by the water

The resort features four outdoor swimming pools. Two are reserved for adults, one of which is heated during winter, ensuring comfortable bathing even on cooler December or January days. A sunbathing terrace with sunloungers and parasols surrounds the pool area. Playa del Matorral, a white sand beach, is around 450 metres from the hotel and comes equipped with sunloungers and parasols. On land, the multi-sports court, volleyball, table tennis and games room are all accessible on site, along with a fitness room. Water sports including scuba diving, kitesurfing and kayaking are available through the hotel but at an additional cost. The tennis court and billiards room are also available for a fee. Jandía Natural Park lies approximately 9 km away, and the Corralejo dunes in the north are well worth an organised excursion. The kids club caters to two separate age groups: 4 to 12 years and 13 to 16 years, each with its own dedicated activity programme. Two children's pools and a splash park round out the aquatic facilities for younger guests, complemented by competitions and sports tournaments run by the animation team.

Evening vibes

From 6:00pm, the lounge bar becomes the natural evening meeting point. Shows are programmed six evenings per week by the international animation team, ranging from live music and themed nights to stage performances. The schedule rotates enough to keep a week-long stay fresh. The atmosphere stays family-friendly without feeling forced, lively without being intrusive for guests who prefer to wrap up the evening quietly on their balcony with the sound of the Atlantic in the background.

The SBH Maxorata Resort is primarily designed for families. The structured kids club spanning two age brackets, the splash park, the dedicated children's pools and daily entertainment create an environment where parents can genuinely unwind. But the hotel works equally well for couples and seniors looking for a solid all-inclusive under near-guaranteed sunshine, steps from one of the most unspoiled coastlines in the Canary Islands.
