Some hotels make their impression felt from the very first step into the lobby, and the Medina Solaria & Thalasso is one of them. The carefully crafted décor, Mediterranean-inspired architecture and natural light flooding the common areas immediately set the tone for an above-average stay. Located in Hammamet, just minutes from the seafront, this 5-star, 239-room property strikes a rare balance between a lively resort atmosphere and a genuine sense of rest. All-inclusive here is not a compromise, it is a promise kept.

Arrival

The main building rises over four floors arranged around a central pool that catches the eye the moment you walk in: two levels of water, a hot tub, a five-flume waterslide and artificial grottos create a setting that is playful yet elegant. It is a far cry from the standard rectangular pools found at run-of-the-mill beach resorts. Reception operates around the clock, which is a real comfort for late-night arrivals, and an on-site currency exchange is available to convert your euros into Tunisian dinars from the moment you check in. All 239 standard rooms come with a balcony or terrace, air conditioning, heating, a mini-fridge, satellite TV, telephone, a desk and a bathroom with shower or bathtub and a hairdryer. A sea-view upgrade is available for an additional fee, and we strongly recommend it for the pleasure of waking up to the Mediterranean. Rooms can accommodate up to three guests: in triple configuration, a sofa bed or pull-out bed completes the double room. The in-room safe and Wi-Fi access are available for an extra charge.

Dining, all included

The main restaurant O Blu is the beating heart of the all-inclusive dining offer. The buffet runs across a remarkable time span: an early breakfast from 4:00 am for early-departing travellers, a standard breakfast until 10:00 am, lunch from 12:30 pm to 3:00 pm, a snack service from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm, dinner from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm, and even a late dinner running until 2:00 am. International cuisine and Tunisian specialities sit side by side, giving curious guests a genuine taste of local food without leaving the resort. The all-inclusive package also grants access, subject to reservation and availability, to three themed restaurants: the Mediterranea restaurant at the neighbouring Medina Belisaire & Thalasso hotel, an Italian restaurant within the Medina Solaria itself, and a Moroccan restaurant at the Diar Lemdina hotel. Three venues, three atmospheres, one single package. For drinks, multiple bars are on hand: the Arena Bar open 24 hours during the summer season, the Moorish Café from 2:00 pm to midnight, and both the Pool Bar and Beach Bar from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. Note that canned and bottled drinks, fresh-squeezed juices and imported spirits are not included in the all-inclusive formula. We recommend verifying the exact all-inclusive inclusions directly with the hotel or your booking provider, as they may vary by season and room type.

Days by the water

The two-level pool with its grottos and five-flume waterslide is the undisputed centrepiece of the resort, and it earns that status: the space is large enough for everyone to find their spot, whether you want to swim laps in peace or have fun with the kids around the slide. Sun loungers, parasols and beach towels are available on site, with a deposit required for the towels. The private beach is a short walk from the hotel, with a small road to cross. The range of included sports activities is concrete and varied: tennis, table tennis, five-a-side football, pétanque, beach volleyball, darts and archery, with regular tournaments organised by the animation team. The fitness room is open from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. Tennis court lighting in the evening is available for a fee. The 1,300 m² thalassotherapy centre is one of the property's defining features. It houses an indoor seawater pool, a sauna, a steam bath, hot tubs, a hammam, body treatments, massages and cure programmes. Non-treatment guests can access the indoor seawater pool during the following slots: 9:00 am to 10:00 am, noon to 3:00 pm and 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm. All spa treatments and thalasso services are charged separately. Guests also benefit from access to the Carthage Land park, which includes thrill rides, a waterpark open from 1 May to 15 September (weather permitting), and a museum. Access is valid once per day.

Evening vibes

As the sun sets, the Medina Solaria shifts into a different gear. The animation team takes over with a varied entertainment schedule: cabarets, Tunisian folklore evenings, karaoke, all in a festive atmosphere that never feels overwhelming. You can join in fully or simply settle into the Moorish Café for a quiet drink until midnight. Children have their own moment too: the mini disco kicks off at 8:30 pm, giving them a fun evening out while the adults enjoy a more relaxed setting.

Who is it for?

The Medina Solaria & Thalasso works equally well for families and couples. Families will appreciate the lively pool, the Carthage Land park, the kids' club for ages 4 to 12 open daily from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm and from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm, and the full animation programme. Couples and wellness seekers will find in the 1,300 m² thalasso centre a serious space to truly unwind: seawater, hammam, massages — everything needed for a deep reset. Seniors will value the on-call doctor and nurse, the 24-hour front desk and room service, all of which offer genuine peace of mind. In short, this hotel is for those who want a structured, lively all-inclusive with a real wellness dimension, without compromising on accommodation quality or dining variety.

The cherry on top

One extra detail worth knowing: since the beach requires crossing a small road, make sure to take advantage of the thalasso centre's indoor seawater pool during the slots open to all guests. Heated seawater in an indoor setting is a rare feature in an all-inclusive resort, and it is well worth experiencing even without a booked treatment.
