Some hotels drop a pool and a pair of sunbeds by the sea and call it a day. The AP Victoria Sports & Beach took the opposite approach: building a genuine sports complex, setting 121 apartments in the middle of an Algarvian pine forest, and letting the Atlantic Ocean do the rest, barely five hundred metres away. The Praia da Falésia with its ochre cliffs dropping onto near-white sand is reachable on foot, while the resort hums quietly in its green setting. Here, all-inclusive does not mean a buffet under a plastic canopy: it means a structured offering with named restaurants, a drinks list that runs from local wine to Mojitos and Piña Coladas, and enough space for every type of guest to find their rhythm.

Arrival

The transfer from Faro International Airport, roughly thirty kilometres away, eases you in naturally: Algarve motorways give way to pine forest, the air fills with salt and resin, and the resort emerges in the woodland setting that gives it its character. No grand lobby, but a front desk open around the clock, with luggage storage and lifts to the upper floors. All 121 apartments measure a genuine forty square metres and come with a furnished balcony or terrace, individually controlled air conditioning and heating, Wifi, a flat-screen satellite TV, a safe, and a fully equipped kitchen complete with fridge, hob, oven, toaster, kettle and cooking utensils. A living area with sofa bed gives the space a true apartment feel rather than a standard hotel room. Views look out over either the pine forest or the pool and sports centre depending on the unit. Bathrooms offer either a bath or shower with hairdryer. Certain apartments are adapted for guests with reduced mobility, on request at the time of booking.

Dining, all included

The all-inclusive formula is built around two distinct restaurants and a bar running throughout the day. The Podium restaurant is the backbone of the dining offer: buffet breakfast in the morning, and lunch and dinner featuring Portuguese cuisine alongside a variety of international specialities. This is where you find local flavours, Algarve-style fish, southern Portuguese vegetables, and familiar international options for guests who need them. From 15 June to 15 September, the Grill restaurant opens for dinner and shifts the focus to grilled meats and fish. The smell of charcoal drifting through the pine air in the evening is one of the simple pleasures this address delivers at no extra cost during high season. The Victoria Bar keeps things going between meals with included drinks and snacks. The drinks list is specific and unambiguous: water, juices, Pepsi, iced tea, non-alcoholic beer, espresso, cappuccino and hot chocolate on the soft side, and beer, local wine, sangria, Porto, rum, vodka, gin, vermouth and liqueurs on the alcohol side. Cocktails are available with or without alcohol: Mojito, Caipirinha, Caipirosca, Piña Colada, Tequila Sunrise, Long Island, Cuba Libre and around a dozen others. A snack buffet runs between meals throughout the day. We invite you to verify the details of the all-inclusive offer directly on the AP Hotels & Resorts website, as inclusions may vary depending on the period and type of room booked.

Days by the water

Praia da Falésia is a five-hundred-metre walk away. This long, near-unbroken beach, framed by rust-coloured cliffs dropping onto pale sand, is one of the finest in the Algarve and consistently ranks among Europe's reference beaches. Walk down in the morning, spend a few hours, and walk back for lunch without any effort. Within the hotel grounds, the outdoor pool and its furnished solarium with sun loungers and parasols offer a quieter alternative to the beach during the middle of the day. A hot tub rounds out the on-site water offer. Children have their own small pool with a water slide and water play features, next to the mini club play area, which gives parents genuine breathing room. The real signature of this hotel, however, is its sports infrastructure. The athletics track has four lanes over forty metres and six lanes over ten metres. There is a tennis court, two padel courts, a full-size football pitch measuring fifty by one hundred metres, and a complete set of athletics equipment including high jump, long jump, pole vault and shot put. A gym is available on site, and direct access to the Açoteias International Cross Country trail is there for runners who want to push beyond the resort perimeter. Billiards, horse riding and golf are accessible at an additional cost.

Evening vibes

The evening entertainment programme is structured around several formats: live sports screenings, concerts and shows, themed evenings and live music. The atmosphere stays on the convivial, family-friendly side rather than veering into nightclub territory, which fits the identity of the resort well. The Victoria Bar stays open to accompany these evenings, and the cocktails included in the all-inclusive formula keep the mood going.

Who is it for?

The AP Victoria Sports & Beach is built for active families who want a structured environment without feeling trapped inside an anonymous resort. The fully equipped kitchen apartments give real autonomy, which is genuinely useful with children in tow. The mini club takes children aged four to twelve from June to September with a creative and sporting activity programme, a real relief for parents who want a few hours to themselves. Sporty guests, whether runners, tennis players, padel enthusiasts or football fans, will find a level of sports infrastructure rarely offered in a four-star all-inclusive hotel. Couples looking for a quiet natural setting without giving up the small pleasures of the formula, a glass of local wine at dinner, a cocktail in the evening, an unlimited buffet, will also find their place in the pine forest of Albufeira.

The cherry on top

The one thing that stands out: a full athletics track and a regulation-size football pitch inside a four-star all-inclusive hotel in the Algarve is genuinely rare. If you travel as a team, a club, or simply never put your trainers away during a holiday, this address was built with you in mind.
